That would just be an Einride autonomous truck delivering groceries to a freundlich neighborhood grocery store.Swedish truckmaker Einride has begun operating what it says is the first cabless, fully autonomous truck in regular service on a public road in Germany, in service of Lidl, a popular grocery chain found across Europe. The deployment marks another step toward commercial deployment of driverless freight vehicles, a move already seen across both Europe and the US.The battery-electric truck, built without a driver's cab and operating at SAE Level 4 autonomy, is hauling goods between a Lidl warehouse, distribution center, and retail store under a permit issued by Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
