Gas Monkey Garage Built This 1949 Chevy 3100 Restomod, and It's for SaleSome trucks are built in a home garage over a decade of weekends. This one came out of a shop you may have seen on television. Seller joneshq on eBay Motors has listed a 1949 Chevrolet 3100 restomod billed as Gas Monkey Garage built, as featured on Discovery Channel, in Draper, Utah, with an asking price of $105,000 or best offer. The 3100 is the half-ton Advance Design Chevy pickup, one of the most recognizable shapes in postwar American trucks, and it has been a favorite starting point for custom builders for decades. Those rounded fenders, that deep hood and the upright cab translate well to modern running gear, and the black paint on this example lets every curve do the talking.Gas Monkey Garage PedigreeGas Monkey Garage is the Dallas shop made famous by Discovery's Fast N' Loud, and a TV-built truck carries a story that few classic pickups can match. According to the listing, this one is a V8 gasoline truck with an automatic transmission, a combination that suits a restomod meant to be driven rather than just parked at shows. The seller notes a clean title and offers local pickup or shipping through eBay's Secure Purchase program. What to Know Before You ClickThe listing runs through October 31 and includes 40 photos, so there is plenty to study before making a move. The seller, a private party with 100 percent positive feedback and a long eBay history, accepts offers, and a $2,000 deposit is required on purchase. The description itself is brief, so serious buyers will want to ask about the engine, suspension, brakes, interior and build documentation, and to confirm the Gas Monkey Garage connection directly with the seller.Even so, a black, TV-built 1949 Chevy pickup with modern drivetrain and a clean title is the sort of truck that gets noticed at every cruise-in. If you like your classic trucks with a little Hollywood attitude, this one deserves a look.
