While many a car company has backtracked on new electric car plans this year, there are still quite a few launches, reveals, and rollouts we're excited about. These are the newest electric cars on the market - and those on the horizon that we can't wait to see - including a variety of electric pickup trucks, a few 1,000-horsepower-plus vehicles, and a controversial new Ferrari. This list covers the newest electric cars where an all-new electric model is launched, as well as those we know are coming; we have not included models that roll over from previous years or where production intent is not verified. This list is accurate at the time of writing; models are arranged alphabetically and grouped by brand. Specs are correct at the time of writing. Audi Newest Electric Cars Audi Concept C Sports Car Audi Concept C frontKicking off our list of newest electric cars is a concept, but it's one we know for a fact is coming. The successor to the iconic Audi TT was received with mixed emotions, with arresting looksthat are a far cry from the slight-sized TT sports car that is so beloved. It's built to be an all-electric model, sharing a platform with the upcoming Porsche 718 electric, although speculation suggests that it may be available with gas or hybrid powertrains. Recently, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner confirmed it will be an EV only, however:"Asking for that specific model, it will definitely be battery-electric only. We are not thinking about flexibility [for that model] because the global volume we are planning for [it] is quite small."We don't know much else about the concept just yet, but late last year, it was confirmed that it would enter production 'soon.' BMW Newest Electric Cars 2027 BMW i3 2027 BMW i3 Exterior Dynamic Front ViewThe all-electric 3 Series from BMW arrives wearing the Neue Klasse design we know from the iX3. Unlike the first-gen i3 that didn't really make waves among buyers, the BMW i3 stands a good chance of winning over consumers. It will arrive in 2027 with a targeted range of up to 440 miles and headlining the EV dynamics system the brand calls "Heart of Joy," designed to make the EV fun and responsive to drive - which is expected of a Bimmer in this segment. Pricing is expected to be around $50,000 to start. 2027 BMW iX3 2027 BMW iX3 driving frontAlready available to purchase, the 2027 BMW iX3 arrived with a bang, bringing with it class-leading range and charging specs, technology far ahead of its peers, and an impressive driving experience."If [comparisons to rivals] don't make it clear that the iX3 is a game-changer, you just need to drive it to believe. There are still cheaper EVs for budget-conscious buyers and more luxurious ones that deliver a superior ride, but if you are looking for the best all-around option with class-leading specs, the iX3 is it."- Jared Rosenholtz, Editor-at-Large, CarBuzzPricing starts at $61,500, with only one trim in the lineup at the time of writing. Chevrolet Newest Electric Cars 2027 Chevrolet Bolt 2027 Chevrolet Bolt - exteriorSome might say it's a bit of a misnomer having the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV on the list, as it's not all that different from the model we knew before it took a four-year break, but it's back for 2027 with loads of improvements that make it a sprightly and efficient runabout. There are two models to choose from, with pricing from under $30k, each with a single-motor powertrain responsible for 210 horsepower. You can go for around 262 miles on a single charge with the little Chevy, with EPA figures of 134/106/120 MPGe attesting to its efficiency. Ferrari Newest Electric Cars 2027 Ferrari Luce Ferrari Luce exterior (9)Arguably the most divisive reveal this year has been this: Ferrari's first electric car - the Ferrari Luce. Barring the fact that it is all-electric, it also sports aesthetics unlike anything we've ever seen from Ferrari, and that's because it was designed by Sir Jony Ive, the man responsible for the Apple iPhone. Fortunately, the electric motors under the sheet metal can do some convincing, with one for each wheel making a total of 1,035 hp and 730 lb-ft of torque. According to Ferrari, the Luce's battery can also deliver 330 miles of range, assuming you don't drive it too hard, which may be a challenge given the claimed 2.5-second 0-62 mph sprint time. Ford Newest Electric Cars 2027 Ford Midsize Electric Truck FordOne of the most anticipated future electric cars comes in pickup truck form. Earlier in 2026, Ford CEO Jim Farley announced the death of the Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck due to customer feedback. Fortunately, it seems there is another EV pickup in the cards, a midsize version that's supposed to be the most efficient yet. We don't have too many details, save that we're expecting it to start at around $30,000, making it one of the most affordable upcoming electric cars in America. Genesis Newest Electric Cars 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma Genesis GV60 Magma front three-quarterWe've been waiting with bated breath for the new Genesis GV60 Magma to hit the scene, a car that represents the racing division of the luxury Korean brand in the same way that AMG and BMW M do for the iconic German brands. Sharing some bits and pieces with other performance-oriented EVs we love (the Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT), the GV60 Magma makes 640 hp from its dual-motor powertrain, and will hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. It looks absolutely banging, too, and is a car we cannot wait to get more seat time in. 2027 Genesis GV90 2027 Genesis GV90 exterior nurburgring spied 3Still under wraps for testing, this is the forthcoming Genesis GV90, the brand's new luxury flagship that was previewed by the Neolun concept a couple of years ago. The all-electric EV will be the brand's biggest and most plush SUV, likely with three rows of seats, gorgeous Korean design inside and out, and at least 500 hp to waft it all around. We have seen the GV90 sporting coach-opening rear doors, which is an indication that the brand is aiming for bigger names than just Mercedes-Maybach. Hyundai Newest Electric Cars 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N hyundai-ioniq-6-nA hotly anticipated addition to the Hyundai EV lineup is the N-fettled sedan above. The 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N takes the sleek and shapely sedan body and imbues it with the performance brilliance of the 5 N, the latter being one of the most important models to come to market in recent years. Proving that electric cars can feel and operate in a way that makes enthusiasts happy (read: this is a genuinely fun EV to drive), the 6 N should follow suit. You get 641 hp, a 3.2-second sprint to 6o mph, and all the N gadgets that won us over in the 5 N. Jaguar Newest Electric Cars Jaguar Type 01 type01-front-16x9Like Audi's Concept C, Jaguar's initial EV concept received some odd looks when it was first introduced. The brand has, to be fair, done some major rebranding and is now quite a different cup of tea than the British marque of old. That being said, the Type 01 is the prototype of the Type 00 concept that had people referring to it as the Batmobile. Here we get our best look yet, with the known facts including an all-wheel drive EV powertrain, three electric motors putting out an estimated 986 horsepower and over 959 lb-ft of torque, and a targeted 400-mile range. The Type 01 sets the tone for the future of electric vehicles for Jaguar. Jeep Newest Electric Cars 2026 Jeep Recon 2026 Jeep Recon Exterior (9)Jeep has done some backtracking on its electrification program, with fewer hybrid and EVs in its lineup than before. That being said, the 2026 Jeep Recon is here as one of only two EVs from the brand. We love it for its open-air vibes, courtesy of a roof and doors that come off, retro design elements, and 650-hp powertrain. A Moab trim that's trail rated kicks off sales for the latest electric Jeep with a $67,000 price tag. Kia Newest Electric Cars 2027 Kia EV3 Kia EV3 GT at Brussels Motor Show (9)Finally, after an extended introduction, the Kia EV3 debuted for the US market in April of 2026. Labeled as the baby EV9, the electric crossover is expected to offer acomplete family EV experience. Range varies from 220 miles to 320 miles, depending on the chosen battery pack, and a GT model is also in the pipeline for those who want more than the expected 200-260 hp. Kia says the EV will be able to charge from 10% to 80% in under half an hour, with the larger battery needing a whole minute or two more. It goes on sale late in 2026 in the USA. Land Rover Newest Electric Cars 2027 Land Rover Range Rover Electric Range Rover The first all-electric Range Rover has been in the works for some time, based on the long-wheelbase Range Rover we know and love. We expected it to arrive for 2026, but it was delayed, and given we're halfway through 2026 now, it's likely to launch as a 2027 model. It will be the brand's first in-house-built EV (since the Jaguar I-Pace was built by Magna Steyr). Details haven't been made public about the Range Rover EV, but we expect around 542 hp and 647 lb-ft, and 800V architecture for fast charging. It won't be the most powerful Range Rover, but it's far from the least potent. Lexus Newest Electric Cars 2026 Lexus ES Electric 2026 Lexus ES 350hThe latest sedan from Lexus has arrived with only two powertrain options, and both are electrified - the 2026 Lexus ES comes as a hybrid or an EV, and the latter is the entry-level model price-wise. Starting at $47,500, the electric ES sedan is a 221-hp FWD luxury car, but buyers can also opt for the 338-hp 500e version that sits at the top of the range. Range maxes out at 307 miles for the base model, and the penalty for the more powerful version is around 30 miles - but you'll need to fork over around $55k for the top model. That being said, it offers true luxury from the entry-spec trim, as our first drive review showed:"The electric version of the ES is the better version, while the hybrid version feels like Lexus is, understandably, hedging its bets. Electric power simply suits the aim of a car to be smooth, quiet, and move people around in a relaxing manner... it's not a car for someone looking for performance, but it presents a compelling alternative to a Tesla as the world moves on and realizes that stark minimalism is boring, and brands like Lexus know how to build a satisfyingly premium sedan – and the ES is a satisfyingly premium sedan."- Ian Wright, Senior Test Driver, CarBuzz Lexus LFA Concept Lexus LFA Concept CloseEnthusiasts and lovers of the famed Lexus LFA have been waiting for this for years, expecting the debut to reveal a car named the Lexus LFR - only for Lexus to reveal the LFA Concept as a car based on the new Toyota GR GT with an all-electric powertrain. The numbers haven't been made public yet, but the brand has promised it will be exceptional, given the sister car wearing the Toyota badge is targeting 641 hp and 627 lb-ft, and the statement, "It's a sport machine worthy of being the icon for the electrified era." 2027 Lexus TZ 2027-lexus-tz-017Arriving in fall 2026, the Lexus TZ is the brand's new three-row luxury flagship. Seen as the electric alternative to the brand's TX, the TZ is the luxury-badged version of the Toyota Highlander EV that's also arriving as a 2027 model later this year. While the Highlander EV is coming with 338 hp, word is the base TZ will make more than that from its dual-motor powertrain. The brand has said it will be able to tow 3,500 lbs and come with a lounge-like interior - and have a soundtrack borrowed from the LFA. Mercedes-Benz Newest Electric Cars 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe electric yellow studio exterior (2)If you were a fan of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance hybrid coupe, which impressed with its V8-and-electrc-motor powertrain, the new all-electric 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is likely to blow your mind. It's an entirely new model that forgoes any combustion power and uses three axial flux motors to deliver 1,153 hp in its top trim. GT 55 and GT 63 trims are available, with the former getting 805 hp and 1,328 lb-ft, while the latter makes the insane four-digit hp we mentioned before with 1,475 lb-ft of torque. That translates to 2.2 or 2.3 seconds needed to get to 60 mph. We also think it looks suitably badass - from the gaping front grille to those glorious taillights. 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Sedan 2026 Mercedes Benz CLA 1The new CLA-Class sedan arrives with an electric powertrain for the first time, riding on a new platform that it will also share with a few other models. It's now not just the entry point to the Mercedes lineup, but also the cheapest EV you can get from the brand. It comes in two flavors - the 250+ and 350 4Matic, which offer 268 hp and 349 hp, respectively. The lower-spec version needs 6.6 seconds to dispatch the 0-60 sprint, while the more potent version can do it in under 5 seconds. Mercedes says buyers can get up to 374 miles of electric range on a full charge for the base model, and 312 for the 350 4Matic sedan. Pricing is still under wraps, but it's expected to come in at $50,000 and below. 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan 2027 Mercedes-Benz Electric C-Class Sedan (8)The electric C-Class sedan will arrive next year as a 2027 model, with 482 hp that gets it to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, courtesy of two electric motors. Mercedes is calling this the sportiest C-Class ever, combining elegance and thrilling performance to the mix. All-wheel drive is standard, and the brand is targeting around 350 miles of range to make it competitive in the compact luxury EV segment. It looks completely different to any C-Class that came before, with the rear-end styling being the latest design language for the brand. Final specs and pricing are still pending, but we expect a mid-$50,000 MSRP. 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUVMercedes-Benz revealed the electric GLC amid a flurry of reports on the impact its new models are making on lowering carbon emissions. Ostensibly cutting two-thirds of carbon emissions compared to the regular gas GLC over its life cycle, the new GLC is a study in the use of recycled materials. It makes 483 hp, can recharge 188 miles of range in just 10 minutes, and will bring competitive range to the segment (Merc has said over 400 miles on the European cycle standard). The new front and rear end styling is in line with the latest EVs from the brand, and we're fans. Porsche Newest Electric Cars 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric Exterior 3New for 2026, the electric Porsche Cayenne arrives after the smaller Macan electric was brought to the lineup, and is the first Porsche EV to come with a standard NACS port for charging. It's available in SUV or Coupe body styles, and offers from 435 hp to 1,139 hp on the Turbo models, which makes for a 2.4-second benchmark sprint (with Launch Control). You'll need at least $110,000 before options and destination if you want to drive one of these, and range anxiety isn't something you'll have to deal with, given there's an estimated 330-340 miles per charge. 2027 Porsche 718 EV Porsche 718 Cayman EV Prototype At Nurburgring LeadAlthough the electric Porsche 718 Cayman is ostensibly on hold for the time being, the brand has made it clear it's not shelving its latest electric sports car. The gas models went out of production in 2026 in anticipation of the new electric model that was to be built on an all-new sports car platform. We've seen it testing around the Nürburgring in what looks like near-production bodywork, but whether it will come to fruition still remains to be seen. RAM Newest Electric Cars 2027 RAM 1500 REV rm026-013fnThis may seem like a strange inclusion, but as a range-extended electric vehicle, the new Ram 1500 REV is classified as a new EV - despite having a gasoline V6 on board. That engine acts as a generator, though, and doesn't send any power to the wheels - the generator ensures the truck's battery is charged (although that too can be charged by plugging in to a DC fast-charger: the result is a projected 690 mile best-in-class driving range. Other important figures include a 14,000-pound max towing capacity, 647 hp maximum, and a 4.5-second 0-60 sprint. We expect the automaker to open the order books in the second half of 2026. Rivian Newest Electric Cars 2027 Rivian R2 2026 Rivian R2 Finally, a third Rivian model has been introduced, adding a smaller, more compact - and less expensive - electric vehicle to the lineup. The Rivian R2 is a smaller SUV that still packs a big punch, from the base model with 350 hp and 345 miles of range to the top-end Performance model with 656 hp that still has 330 miles per charge. That is the most expensive model, too, and that comes in at under $60,000. A 3.6-second sprint to 60 mph is possible, and Rivian says the R2 still has good off-roading capability thanks to 9.6 inches of ground clearance, semi-active suspension, and versatile drive modes. Scout Newest Electric Cars 2028 Scout Traveler SUV 2027 Scout Traveler Red Front AngleVolkswagen is reviving the Scout name and has promised a range of new EVs in the form of pickup trucks and SUVs, aimed for arrival as 2028 models. Both the Traveler and the Terra will be built on a new EV platform, and will be built right here in the USA with suitably retro looks that hark back to the original nameplates. The Scout Traveler is the SUV model that will sport an optional Cabana Top roof, cloth and leather upholstery, and a large infotainment screen. The brand is targeting 350 miles per charge, but there will also be an optional range-extended model that should allow for over 500 miles on a charge. 2028 Scout Terra Truck 2027 Scout Terra Blue Low Front AngleThe second model from Scout is the Terra pickup truck, one of only a few electric trucks coming out in the near future. The design is a body-on-frame crew cab with a 5.5-foot bed and the attractive retro-styling that models like the new Bronco have popularized. As with the Traveler, it will come as an EV or a range-extended electric vehicle that uses a gas engine to charge the battery, with those models said to be called "Harvester" models as a nod to the original Scouts of yore. We eagerly await more information on the newest Scout EVs. Slate Newest Electric Cars 2027 Slate Truck Jay Leno Drives Slate TruckWhen it comes to affordable pickup trucks - and cheap new EVs - the Slate truck has had the automotive world in a vice grip for some time. Slate is a new electric car company, so the roll out has been a little slow. Ostensibly coming with a sub-$30k starting price, these two-door highly configurable pickups are highly anticipated, and Slate is apparently taking final orders now. Slate plans to deliver the first orders in the final quarter of 2026, so we're sure to have more information soon - the expectation has always been a very basic truck with a single rear motor and very little in the way of creature comforts. Subaru Newest Electric Cars 2027 Subaru Getaway 2027-subaru-getaway-22959The Subaru Getaway is one of the three new EVs for the Subaru brand - and this one has two siblings that also make it onto this list: the Highlander EV and Lexuz TZ. It shares almost all of its bits and pieces with the Toyota version, and comes standard with the brand's all-wheel drive system as well as 8.3 inches of ground clearance. The X-Mode system is also included for grip in slippery conditions, and the model is marketed as the most powerful production vehicle yet: 420 hp is the only spec figure we have thus far, but it's an impressive one. We look forward to getting behind the wheel of this new Subaru EV. 2026 Subaru Trailseeker 2026 Subaru TrailseekerOff Road 6The new Subaru Trailseeker is the brand's largest EV and - until the Getaway arrives - is the most powerful series-production Subaru with 375 hp as standard. It needs only 4.3 seconds to hit 60 mph, despite being a heavy wagonesque SUV. There are four trims to choose from, ranging in price from $39,995 to $46,855, which is more expensive than the Toyota bZ which it's mechanically similar to. You do get more options in the Subaru lineup, though there's no answer for the bZ Woodland in the Trailseeker lineup at the moment. Still, it claims to have the best-in-class cargo space and ground clearance."That makes the latest Subaru EV just about perfect for its target buyer, who wants to go all-electric but doesn't want to sacrifice rough-road capability or interior space. Most of its hard numbers – over 270 miles of range, 150-kilowatt DC fast charging via a NACS port, and over 31 cubic feet of cargo space – are at least class-competitive, too, so the rugged-looking EV should also appeal to flatlanders who just want to cruise around town in comfortable, quick, and outdoorsy drag."- Brett T. Evans, Senior Road Tester, CarBuzz 2026 Subaru Uncharted 2026 Subaru Uncharted Exterior 8 Front Quarter In MotionRounding out the trio of brand-new EVs in 2026 is the Subaru Uncharted, which you'll note looks similar to the Toyota C-HR - that's because they are mechanically the same. For the first time in ages, Subaru has a front-wheel drive vehicle, and this is it. In FWD form, it makes 220 hp and has a 308-mile range. You could opt for the AWD 338-hp version (and lose around 30 miles of range) and still pay under $40k - unless you opt for the GT model which will set you back $43,795. We spent some time with the Uncharted and found it to be a viable option, if not best in the class."Still, the Uncharted is well-equipped, stylish, and fun to drive, making it well worth a look in the small EV space."- Brett T. Evans, Senior Road Tester, CarBuzz Toyota Newest Electric Cars 2026 Toyota bZ and bZ Woodland 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland The Toyota bZ and bZ Woodland are more than just renamed bZ4X models because the improvements are vast: the powertrain, charging technology, cabin, and exterior looks all reflect what feels like new models. Akin to the Subaru Trailseeker, the bZ brings good range, fast charging, and snappy driving to the segment. The Woodland is longer overall, looking a little more like a wagon, and packing some extra cargo space, along with exterior ruggedness in the form of body cladding. There are various alternatives to choose from, from the base 168-hp model to the top 375-hp Woodland trim. Pricing starts below $35,000, with the Woodland asking for $45,300 before destination and options. 2026 Toyota C-HR 2026 Toyota C-HR front three-quarterThe Toyota C-HR took a four-year break and returns for 2026 with all new styling and an electric powertrain as the automotive twin to the Subaru Uncharted. Two trims are available at the time of writing, with a maximum range of 287 miles from the base model, and a $37k starting price. Total system horsepower is a healthy 338 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque. The automaker says the electric crossover can hit 60 mph in under five seconds. It compares favorably to rivals in the segment, as we found in our drive review:"It's also cheaper than an all-wheel-drive Ioniq 5, all-wheel-drive Mustang Mach-E, and about the same as an all-wheel-drive Equinox EV. So while it's not the cheapest EV around, it's an impressive value considering the power, traction, and solid range that it offers. The fact that it's also stylish and fun means you should absolutely check it out if you're shopping in the segment."- Brett. T. Evans, Senior Road Tester, CarBuzz 2027 Toyota Highlander 2027 Toyota Highlander LimitedMechanically similar to the Lexus TZ we've touched on above, the Highlander EV comes to market as the electric version of an old nameplate. It shares some styling with the bZ models and the new C-HR, and is far boxier than what we're used to from the brand. It's built on a highly modified version of the TNGA-K platform which you'll find in the regular Highlander and evergreen RAV4. The Highlander EV is much larger than the current gas version, and can be had in either a single-motor FWD model with 221 hp, or a dual-motor AWD version that puts out 338 hp. It's three-row layout is set to be a level up on what we're used to from Toyota when it comes to luxury. Volvo Newest Electric Cars 2027 Volvo EX60 2027-volvo-ex60-frontMeet the latest in Volvo's lineup - the all-electric premium two-row crossover that's come to steal BMW's thunder. The 2027 Volvo EX60 goes up against the BMW iX3, and it brings either 369 hp or 503 hp to the fray. A 670-hp model is in the cards, too, but for now, the P6 and P10 versions offer great performance as well as up to 320 miles of range (targeting 400 miles when the P12 models arrive). Starting under $60,000 for the base model, the EX60 is a great buy for those looking for cutting-edge EV technology in a family-friendly package."The electric performance is punchy, the ride quiet, and noise insulation close to best-in-class. But physically, this feels like a far more robust product than any Volvo I've driven in the last dozen years. Even in pre-production prototype guise, which one expects to have a few squeaks and rattles, the EX60 feels like a leap forward compared to previous attempts from the brand."- Roger Biermann, Managing Editor, CarBuzzSources: Volvo, Toyota, Subaru, Slate, Scout, Rivian, RAM, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Land Rover, Kia, Keep, Jaguar, Hyundai,, Genesis, Ford, Ferrari, Chevrolet, BMW, Audi
