Gasgoo Munich- On Sept. 17, the Doubao cockpit assistant has officially launched. The new model, set to debut in the SAIC Roewe Jiayue 07, opens pre-orders on Sept. 21. Positioned as an AI-native vehicle, it integrates large-model capabilities deep into the vehicle's perception, decision-making, and execution loops—extending beyond the cockpit's application layer.Unlike most market offerings that treat large models as a mere infotainment add-on, the Jiayue 07 utilizes the CPP AI-native architecture. This deeply integrates the Doubao assistant into vehicle control, navigation, intelligent driving, and service ecosystems—granting AI direct control over the car's underlying hardware. The Doubao assistant extends beyond software interaction. Using a dedicated physical screen, it creates an "embodied" presence—combining hardware movements, dynamic expressions, and voice for multi-dimensional, human-like interaction. The AI system can autonomously trigger feedback based on driving scenarios, while the entire suite of visual expressions supports future OTA updates.Image source: Shao JingfengIn multi-passenger scenarios, the assistant distinguishes between occupants and remembers individual preferences for seats, climate, and media—delivering a personalized experience. Regarding intelligent driving, the vehicle pairs Momenta's R7 world model with the XHEART X7 automotive-grade chip. This setup handles over 300 parking spot types and manages complex maneuvers like vertical parking in extremely tight spaces. With a wheelbase of 2,908 mm, the exterior design was led by Jozef Kabaň. Power comes from an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system, offering a CLTC pure-electric range of 320 km and a total range of 1,480 km. The range extender boasts a thermal efficiency of 48.1%, and the vehicle supports fast charging. Leveraging its space and range, the model elevates AI from a mere interaction tool to a central vehicle hub—paving a new path for the mass production of in-car large models.
