The project aims to upgrade the production environment, bring in critical equipment, and build out comprehensive manufacturing and testing capabilities. By recruiting and training specialized teams, Corning plans to strengthen its local production and delivery footprint—targeting a $1 billion annual output to create a world-class manufacturing base in Jiading.China plays a pivotal role in Corning's global strategy, said Lin Chunmei, vice president of Corning and president and general manager of Greater China. She noted that Jiading is a critical hub for advanced manufacturing and industrial innovation in Shanghai, offering a solid industrial foundation and a pragmatic, efficient business environment.Looking ahead, Lin hopes to use this agreement as a fresh starting point to deepen Corning's presence in Jiading and continuously enhance local manufacturing, operations, and collaboration. The company plans to leverage its strengths in technological innovation and advanced manufacturing to drive the project forward and deliver results.
