Technical specifications The Freelander 8 is a product of the joint venture between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover: Powertrain and performance Range-extended system: Equipped with a 1.5T internal combustion engine acting as a range extender, producing 115 kW. Battery and range: Features a 60.331 kWh battery co-developed with CATL, providing a pure electric driving range of 221 km. Charging: The 800V high-voltage platform supports up to 6C charging, with a peak electrical intake capacity of 350 kW. Intelligence and off-road capability Intelligent driving: The vehicle is among the first globally to feature an 896-line LiDAR sensor and comes standard with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving assistance system. Computing power: Powered by the latest-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 automotive-grade chip. All-terrain system: Utilises the i-ATS intelligent all-terrain system, developed in collaboration with Huawei. Traction is managed via three differential locks (front mechanical, rear electronic limited-slip, and a virtual centre lock). Suspension: Features a closed dual-chamber air suspension system for optimised dampening and ground clearance. In June 2026, Chery Group sold 256,612 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%. Of these, 191,062 units were exported, representing a 79.7% year-on-year growth, breaking the record for monthly exports by a Chinese carmaker for the fourth consecutive month and exceeding 190,000 monthly exports for the first time. In the first half of 2026, Chery Group sold a total of 1,357,533 vehicles, up 7.7% year-on-year.
