Previously listed as unavailable on the battery giant’s site, the cells are now offered at 435 yuan (65 USD) per kWh, with a minimum order of 324 units, or three boxes. As with other cells on its site, CATL pledges a 5-year warranty with no tacked-on fees, and all orders will ship within 3 to 5 days. The new 587 Ah cell is offered alongside the smaller 280 and 314 Ah LFP cells, which were among the first products to be offered on CATL Mall. CATL began delivering the 587 Ah cell to large-scale clients in late 2025. The new listing now makes the cell available to small- and medium-scale system integrators with limited purchasing power. A minimum order would cost almost 40,000 USD.Credit: CATL Mall Specifications Like its smaller siblings, the new 587 Ah cell is intended for energy storage applications and is rated only for a charge/discharge rate of 0.5C. This limitation excludes it from use in EVs or other forms of high-power transport. While the smaller cells have a higher charge/discharge rate of 1C, CATL still rates the new cell’s lifespan at 8,000 cycles at 25°C with 70% state-of-health (SoH). The cell can be discharged from -25 to 60 °C, while charging is permitted only above 0 °C (0- 60 °C). The 587 Ah cell measures 73.05/310/221.53 mm, and it weighs 10.6 +/- 0.3 KG. Each cell has an energy capacity of 1.88 kWh, with CATL rating its energy density at 379 Wh/L. CATL Mall CarNewsChina previously reported on CATL Mall’s launch and recent success, with over 1800 companies signing on to the online platform. While the battery giant claims to offer a quick, streamlined sign-up process, buyers still need a valid Chinese business license to order on the site. While CATL Mall has allowed smaller Chinese enterprises to bypass battery middlemen, international buyers would still need to purchase cells through a domestic broker, or set up a subsidiary within Mainland China. With help from a local Chinese firm, CarNewsChina previously signed up for the online platform, giving it the privilege of ordering hundreds of megawatt-hours of LFP cells directly from CATL. For the new 587 Ah cell, a minimum order of 324 units would cost around 265,000 yuan (39,500 USD). This represents an energy capacity of 608 kWh, equivalent to the battery packs of 20 base-model BYD Seagulls. It’s plausible that buyers, both big and small, are willing to pay a premium for what they see as a “top-shelf product”.
