Sung Kang, known for his recurring role as Han in the Fast and the Furious film franchise, has a new project. While the rest of the world waits for Vin Diesel to get absolutely everything he wants for Fast Forever, due out March 17, 2028, Kang made a movie of his own.Kang wrote, directed, and starred in Drifter, “… the story of a solitary janitor who finds redemption and belonging through the competitive drifting scene.” In addition to the ever-so-cool Kang, that movie stars an Toyota AE86 named Lola, a take on the car’s Corolla basis. According to @hyperdrive, Lola is a Rocket Bunny widebody-converted example of the classic and now cult-favorite “hachiroku” that goes from a beater to a full-drifter with a small-block Chevy V8 underhood. Hey, most of the entries in Formula Drift have some variation of the LS3.Kang and the car in question. To help promote the movie, Kang collaborated with Forza Horizon 6 to create a sweepstakes for anyone who “wishlists” Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox, Steam, or PlayStation and submits an entry form. What will you win? Kang and Forza list it all on the entry form. The prize includes, among other things: Round-trip, coach-class air transportation for winner and one (1) guest Standard hotel accommodations for five nights A JDM car experience Professional drifting experience Sumo wrestling experience Advanced screening of Drifter The toughest part of all that, assuming the Sumo wrestling experience doesn’t involve getting squashed by a sumo wrestler, might be flying all the way to Japan in coach which, come to think of it, is the same thing. But supposing you survive that, it sounds pretty cool. No word on whether the lucky winner(s) will get to meet the great Kang himself. As for Drifter the movie, there’s still no release date beyond “2026.” But we are looking forward to seeing it.
