Xiong Tianbo, General Manager of the Fangchengbao division, shared the official images today with the caption, “The king returns from overseas!” signalling that the model is poised to enter the domestic Chinese market soon. The BYD Shark 6, which made its global debut in Mexico in May 2024, has already established a presence in international markets including Australia, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE. While the model has been a key export product for BYD, Fang Cheng Bao is finally bringing it back to its home country. Market context The move to bring the Shark to China comes as BYD faces shifting dynamics in the global pickup segment. Data indicates that export volumes for the Shark 6 reached 20,037 units in the first half of 2026, representing a 25.76% year-over-year decline.
