This one-off EV certainly sparkled at auction.BYD’s luxe sub-brand Denza just put a limited-edition Z9GT under the hammer in Cannes this week, and the team tapped Chopard to add some jewelry-inspired touches that really made the offering shine. As a result, the one-of-a-kind car is fetched $815,000 on the block, Hypebeast reported.More from Robb Report'Mack the Knife' Composer Kurt Weill Once Owned This Storybook Home in New YorkThe Macallan's New 40-Year-Old Whisky Is a Tribute to a Record-Breaking BottleThis 1,700-Acre English Estate that Starred in 'Pride and Prejudice" Lists for $60.5 MillionAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Denza Chopard Z9GT has gold accents adorning the exterior of the EV, but it’s inside where Chopard’s influence is really on display. The interior trims are adorned with amethyst stones, from controls for the seats to the air-condition and more. You’ll find the same detail surrounding the 17.3-inch infotainment screen, too, which also is home to a custom Chopard theme. The maison’s “C” logo can be spotted on the headrests and the carpets as well—and even on the wireless charging pad for your smartphone.A look inside the interior.“At Chopard, we believe that true luxury lies in emotion and detail,” Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s artistic director and co-president of the house, said in a previous press statement announcing the auction. “With this exceptional collaboration, we have transformed the Denza Z9GT into a moving piece of jewelry, where every element reflects our passion for craftsmanship and our pursuit of beauty.”Beneath all its glitz, the one-off EV has plenty of eye-catching tech, too. The Z9GT is home to BYD’s e3 platform and second-gen Blade Battery system. That means the trio of motors offer up more than 1,150 hp and can dart from zero to 62 mph in less than three seconds. The EV can recharge in just nine minutes, too (or go from 10 percent to 70 percent in a mere five minutes), thanks to its speedy 1,500 kW charging tech. Plus, amid all the wooden accents, it has 20-speaker theater-grade audio system from French experts Devialet. And the cherry on top: All the funds from the sale of this Z9GT, which took place at the 32nd annual AMFAR Gala Cannes, went to funding AIDS research. And while you can’t get your hands on this bespoke edition, BYD is planning on taking its EV to the European market some time in 2026.AdvertisementAdvertisementClick here to see more of the one-off Z9GT.BYDBest of Robb ReportThe 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine BeastThe World’s Best Superyacht ShipyardsThe ABCs of Chartering a YachtSign up for RobbReports's Newsletter.
