In other words, you aren’t needlessly increasing power (and thus battery drain) when you don’t need it. Instead, you get it exactly when it matters. Riders can also fine-tune how much of that extra performance they want through the eBike Flow app, adjusting torque and support levels to match their riding style. And importantly, that boost is temporary and situational, meaning the system dials things back once you’re through the tough section. That helps reduce wear on components and preserve range, which has always been one of the trade-offs with higher-powered systems. Bosch is also expanding its Extended Boost feature, which provides a short burst of continued assistance even after you stop pedaling, making it useful for clearing obstacles like rocks or steps. Now riders will be able to customize how long that boost lasts, adding another layer of control. There are a few other notable additions too. A new “Drivetrain Tensioner” reduces pedal lag for more immediate response, while a feature called Trick Check automatically logs jumps, wheelies, and other trail moves – a fun nod to the growing performance side of eMTB riding. And for riders who burn through batteries quickly, Bosch is working on a new 12A fast charger that can juice up batteries roughly three times faster than current models. Taken together, this update shows where Bosch’s head is regarding what they want to deliver. More riders want higher performance – and not just commuters looking for road speed, but enthusiasts pushing the limits of what e-bikes can do off-road. And Bosch, long known for its conservative and reliability-focused approach, seems increasingly comfortable stepping into that higher-performance arena.
