Maserati’s goal is to produce exciting cars that run partially or fully on battery power. The company has already made progress in this with the hybrid powertrains fitted to the MC20 and the recently unveiled Grecale. And it looks like the GranTurismo will be the latest addition to its electrified portfolio.

No less than Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares took the prototype version of the upcoming GranTurismo Folgore out for a drive to Rome’s Formula E circuit. The production car is scheduled to debut next year, the same time as the automaker’s return to motorsports in Formula E.
Maserati plans to become the first Italian car company to electrify its entire catalog. All of its models will be electrified by 2025, and its lineup will be fully electric come 2030.
