Kinetic Luna was one of the most popular mopeds of its time in India. In fact, it was so popular that ‘Luna’ itself became a generic word to describe any mopeds.
Now, Kinetic Green, Founder and CEO, Sulajja Firodia Motwani has confirmed that the company is looking forward to launching a new electric two-wheeler. On top of that, this upcoming EV will be called ‘e Luna’, marking the comeback of the iconic nameplate after half a century.
Sulajja Firodia Motwani tweeted “A blast from the past!! ” Chal Meri Luna” and it’s creator.. My father, Padmashree Mr. Arun Firodia! Watch this space for something revolutionary & exciting from Kinetic Gree….. U r right … it’s e Luna!!!”.
In addition to that, she also took a stroll down the memory lane by sharing an image of Arun Firodia on a Kinetic Luna and an old TVC of the moped.
That being said, Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions is a sister brand of the Kinetic Group, and recent reports suggest that the company has already commenced the production of the chassis. Additionally, the company is also setting up a separate production line for the upcoming electric Luna.
In fact, the company has already installed 30 new welding machines in the assembly lines that are exclusive to the production of e Luna. Along with this, the company will be setting up special paint booths and fabrication units.
Speaking about the upcoming e Luna, technical information regarding the product is next to nothing. However, given the ‘Luna’ name, we expect the upcoming e Luna to be simple, sturdy, reliable and affordable.
Thoughts About The Upcoming ‘e Luna’
With the launch of e Luna, we expect the Kinetic brand to get more attention in the growing electric two-wheeler industry. However, the company must come up with solid products in the near future to make a proper comeback.
