Latest Jeep Wrangler EV to be joined by retro-inspired Wagoneer and other concepts at Easter Safari
Jeep has teased a further two concepts ahead of its annual Jeep Easter Safari in Moab, Utah, on April 1, when it will unwrap an all-new battery-electric concept for a Jeep Wrangler and a retro take on either the current Cherokee or large Wagoneer.
The biggest news is the revelation that the third concept for the battery-powered Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 will make its debut.
No details have been released on what drives the latest battery-powered Jeep, but bear in the mind the first gen featured a 213kW/370Nm electric motor and the second Magneto 2.0 sported a far punchier powertrain developing 466kW and 1152Nm of torque.
The Magneto 2.0 was fitted with a six-speed manual transmission that allowed for a 0-100km/h dash in less than three seconds.
Heavily modified to cope with that level of performance, the Magneto 2.0 concept was 300mm longer and had a stretched wheelbase.
It also featured 40-inch mud tyres, 20-inch wheels and a 3.0-inch lift kit, while a Dynatrac 60 Pro-Rock front axle and Pro-Rock Dynatrac 80 rear axle – each fitted with locking differentials – ensured its toughness and capability off-road.

We expect a similar formula for the latest Magneto 3.0 but perhaps with even more performance.
It’s also rumoured to be a rolling test bed for the production EV Jeep is readying.
The retro vehicle also heading to Utah is less easy to discern based on the teaser. It looks like it could be a restomod based on the Jeep Cherokee or Wagoneer made during the 1960s and ’70s, or could be a modern Jeep modified to have more of a retro appearance.
The image suggests it will be the former as the design renderings look like a two-door car.
A handful of concepts are now set to make their debut at the annual Jeep fan fest in Moab including a two-door ute based on the current Jeep Gladiator, the incoming 2024 Jeep Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid, a modified Wrangler or Gladiator fitted with Performance Parts and an electrified Jeep Wagoneer 4xe, plus other models that will preview a wilder colour palette that could be offered in future.
Stay tuned as it’s thought Jeep will release yet more teasers of the upcoming concepts ahead of their official unveiling.
