A dangerous car chase has ended with a car crashing into a traffic light and the driver arrested.
The white Hyundai Elantra was seen driving at high speed through southwest Sydney for half an hour.
The car then crashed into a traffic light at an intersection believed to be in North Rocks, near a shopping centre.
Aerial footage showed cops surrounding the car before arresting the passenger of the car.
The car is seen in the footage televised live as having Queensland number plates.
Dramatic footage captured earlier by a Nine News helicopter showed the vehicle speeding through multiple intersections and nearly clipping a number of other motorists.
The vision also showed a woman with her legs on the car‘s dashboard while looking at her mobile phone.
A police spokesperson said the PolAir helicopter had been monitoring the car prior to the crash.
They said police had not been pursuing the driver, but could not confirm if officers had disengaged.
