The penultimate film in the Fast and Furious franchise has recently wrapped filming and is due for release in 2023. Dubbed variously Fast 10, Fast X or Fast and Furious 10, the film is expected to be one of the most-expensive productions in history, with an estimated budget of $US 300 million.
The human cast will include many of the familiar familia, including Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce and Ludacris as Tej Parker.
Jason Momoa is a new addition to the cast as a yet-unamed baddie.
Of more interest to us is the vehicular cast members. A number of them were spotted being unloaded at LAX earlier this year, including Dom’s iconic 1968 Dodge Charger, as well as a bad-ass Datsun 240Z and a wild, six-wheel, rear-engine ramp car.
More recently, two factory EVs were spotted on location by YouTuber A German in Venice, in the Angelino Heights neighborhood of of LA that is home to Bob’s Market, aka Toretto’s Market & Deli from the films.
The first was the recently revealed Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee, which promises to be the first all-electric muscle car out of Detroit. The ‘Banshee’ refers to the car’s powertrain, which will be the peak of Dodge’s EV offerings, based on an 800 volt system. While power figures are yet to be released, Dodge reckons it will eclipse that of the Hellcat and its derivatives.

The second concept spotted was the DeLorean Alpha5, which was unveiled in May this year. Unlike the original DCM-12, the Alpha5 is a four seater, but retains the signature gullwing doors. This example was missing the rear window louvers of the unveil car, but was moving under its own steam.
Angelino Heights residents have been protesting the filming of Fast 10, who are concerned that the franchise inspires unsafe driving in the area by fans.
