The last time there was speculation about a next-gen 2023 , it was all rather unalluringly grey. Now though, Best Car Web’s artists have taken the liberty to put the much-touted model into production…well, digitally through a render at least.
Unlike the previous speculation where the car was to be based on the Toyota Small SU-EV concept, this time around the ‘next-gen C-HR’ is said to be truer to the form of the Toyota bZ Compact SUV, a car that was first shown by Toyota themselves at the company’s Battery EV Strategies online press conference in December 2021.

Brave colour notwithstanding, this render puts on more plausible details, starting with a tweaked front end, more conventional side mirrors, and different wheels.
If this really is the next-gen C-HR, when is it appearing? At present, there’s been no talk of the current C-HR being discontinued, but sales momentum has been declining as buyers seek for more practical, same-sized offerings like the and .

Still, wait lists are long (around 6- to 7-months in Japan alone), and factoring that plus the time it takes to retool factories…Best Car Web thinks that order taking for the current C-HR may have stopped anyway. If that is the case, then a mid-2023 introduction of the all-new 2023 Toyota C-HR may be possible.
Previously, it was reported that this all-new model could get a range of powertrains, between a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.8-litre hybrid system, while a plug-in hybrid variant could also join the line-up.

E-Four electric all-wheel drive might also be offered to the model. The publication says a mid-2023 debut could be possible, with prices starting from JPY 2.5 million (~RM 80k) to JPY 3.3 million (~RM 104k).
This is an increase from the current-gen car’s JPY 2.1 million (~RM 73k) to JPY 3.2 million (~RM 101k) price tag.
