► CAR magazine’s 60th anniversary!► Counting down the 60 greatest car makers
► Read it all in our new membership club

CAR magazine is turning 60 – and to celebrate we’re counting down our favourite 60 car makers of the past 60 years.

Who will be our favourite over the past six decades? Ferrari or Lamborghini, for their magical supercar highs? BMW or Porsche for consistently thrilling cars? Citroen for putting people first with comfort and functionality? Or Tesla for turning the fossil fuel industry upside down?

CAR team members voted to jointly create our power list, ranking brands for the excellence of their cars, tech innovation, business health, motorsport success and cultural significance, from 1962 to 2022.

We’ll reveal the CAR60 countdown over the next three issues. Starting with the October 2022 issue (out 14 September), we’ll be dedicating the bulk of our feature pages to the countdown, with exclusive in-depth features on key entrants.
