The Alfa Romeo Tonale signifies a transitional period with the Italian brand looking at an era of connectivity and electrification but still being undeniably Italian. How many child car seats can you fit into the Tonale though?
The Alfa Romeo Tonale is the latest in Alfa Romeo flair, focusing on connectivity and the move to electrification with its 48-volt hybrid technology propulsion. My colleague Sean Nurse had the Tonale on test, and you can read his thoughts here.
The Alfa Romeo interior, as you’d expect with a vehicle this size is spacious, comfortable and stylish. In keeping with the connectivity theme, there’s a 12.3-inch digitised instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a Harmon Kardon sound system. There are a variety of interior materials, and no shortcuts have been taken to give you the premium Alfa Romeo experience. Space isn’t compromised as well with a 500-litre boot that can expand to 1550 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Let’s see if three child car seats fit in the Tonale.
That’s great! Can you fit three child car seats in the Tonale?
Yes and no. The Tonale comes with ISOFIX anchors on the outer rear seats, whilst there aren’t any in the middle seat. However, if you’re thinking ISOFIX solely, then the maximum amount of child car seats is 2; you could fit a child in the middle seat if the car seat uses the seatbelt style anchor system, though. Rest assured, though, the Tonale has a 5 Star Euro NCAP safety rating with an 85% Child Occupant Rating. The little ones will definitely be safe.
