Even by luxury vehicle standards, Cadillac often goes above and beyond the competition. Base models boast potent engines and premium cabin materials. And higher trims have massaging seats, 36-speaker audio systems, and magnetic ride control for a grand touring experience. But those extravagances come at a price: You could easily pay over $100,000 for a fully loaded Cadillac model. But the upcoming all-electric Cadillac Celestiq could be triple that price. Here’s why.

Options could push the Cadillac Celestiq price over $300,000

cadillac celestiq reportedly will cost more than $300,000 with options

Autoblog predicts the Cadillac Celestiq price will hover around $200,000 before options and $300,000 when fully loaded. That estimate probably isn’t far off, especially when you look at the Cadillac Escalade for reference. The standard model starts at $76,295, and the Sport Platinum trim can’t be had for less than $101,000.

The Sport Platinum also has several options available, from premium colors to various performance and technology packages. In total, that Escalade trim offers over $20,000 worth of extras.

The Cadillac Celestiq’s price is also elevated by its exclusivity. The automaker reportedly won’t build more than 500 examples per year because this EV will be more “bespoke” than other Cadillac cars. This opens up the possibility for unlimited customization options that you’d find on a Maserati or similar hyper-luxury car.

According to Car and Driver, the Cadillac Celestiq will have at least two electric motors that should supply 300 miles of range. It will also use GM’s Ultium battery technology. DC fast-charging this battery for 10 minutes could restore 76 miles of range, based on the Cadillac Lyriq’s charge times.

Four-wheel steering will accompany the all-wheel-drive setup, which allows all four wheels to turn along with the steering wheel. It keeps a vehicle more secure on unsteady terrain and makes it easier to parallel-park or make tight turns.

This hatchback sedan will have four bucket seats, likely upholstered with top-of-the-line material. It’ll also include a SmartGlass roof, a panoramic sunroof split into four panels. There’s one for each rider to tint and adjust the opacity to their liking.

Autoblog says the center touchscreen will stretch across the instrument panel. Both backseat riders will also have individual touchscreens. In addition, smartphone integration and a premium AKG sound system are expected, along with the automaker’s latest security technology.

The Cadillac Celestiq will also have Ultra Cruise. According to Consumer Reports, this upgraded form of cruise control supports hands-free driving on country and city roads. It also accurately reacts to traffic signals and follows precise navigation routes.

So far, the only official images Cadillac has provided show portions of the Celestiq. We can see attractive brushed metal inside, seven-spoke wheels, L-shaped headlights, and red seats with intricate stitching.

When will the Cadillac Celestiq come out?

Production for the first Cadillac Celestiq orders should begin in 2023. That puts it on track for a release in 2025, meaning it will likely be a 2025 or 2026 model, TechCrunch reports.

Cadillac has tentatively scheduled an official debut for the Celestiq later this month. At that time, we’ll probably get a better look at the car’s exterior and possibly demonstrations showcasing some of its features.

Reservations will likely open soon after the unveiling. If the Cadillac Celestiq’s price remains as high as predicted, we’re not sure how fast they’ll sell. Because Cadillac advertises each Celestiq as custom-built, ordering yours online might be your only chance to get one.
