The upcoming all-electric (EV) has been spotted on a flatbed in Malaysia. This comes shortly after the of BYD’s distributor for Malaysia, Sime Darby Motors, and the confirmation of the e6’s arrival.
From the photos circulating on social media, the BYD e6 appears to be Singaporean unit, judging from the number plate holder that says ‘E-Auto’, which is a division of Vantage Automotive – a subsidiary of Sime Darby Motors.
Not much else can be deduced from the photos. It is possible that the unit has been brought in for internal tests.
A little refresher on the BYD e6, it has a front-mounted electric motor with a 95 PS/180 Nm. 0-100 km/h stats are not provided but its top speed is claimed at 130 km/h.
Juiced up by a 71.7 kWh battery, the BYD e6 has a WLTC (used interchangeably with WLTP) range of up to 522 km. The onboard charger allows up 40 kW AC charging while DC charging is up to 60 kW.
Standard features in the Singapore-spec BYD e6 include 4 airbags, powered tailgate, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and 17-inch wheels. ADAS is not available unfortunately.
