Just two weeks after the BYD Atto 3 full electric SUV went on sale, BYD Rever Thailand, the official distributor of BYD cars in the Kingdom, has added a new variant into the mix. The new variant makes the Atto 3 even more affordable at THB 1,099,900 (~RM 141,000), however, it has a lower 410 km range.
Known as the Atto 3 Standard range, the new entry-level Atto 3 gets a smaller 49.9 kWh battery pack. This gives the SUV a range of 410 km based on the NEDC. In comparison, the Extended range gets a 60.48 kWh battery pack and is good for a range of 489 km on a full charge.
DC charging is also reduced to 70 kW, 10 kW slower than the longer-range variant’s 80 kW rating.
As mentioned, the new variant costs THB 1,099,900, which is THB 100,000 more affordable than the longer-range variant’s THB 1,199,900 (~RM 154,000).
The more affordable Atto 3 is only available in white and grey, unlike the Extended range which comes in blue and red as well.
Other than that, the Atto 3 Standard range is similar to the Extended range. It still runs on BYD’s well-known Blade battery which is touted to be a safer option compared to other batteries in the market.
The more affordable variant still comes with features such as a power tailgate, automatic headlights, LED taillights, and panoramic sunroof, as well as 31 ambient lighting options that can be set to follow the beat of music.
The interior also features a 5-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also features BYD DiLink intelligent connectivity system.
Though this is the more affordable variant, it still comes with the Rever Care promotion that consists of warranty, accessories, and after-sale services that total about THB 180,000 (~RM 23,000).
Rever is already accepting bookings for the Standard range with an aim to start deliveries by the end of this year.
On another note, Rever revealed that they received a total of 4,617 bookings for the Extended range seven days after the SUV went on sale. The first batch of Atto 3s, about 457 units, has already been delivered.
Rever did not reveal how many allocations of the Standard range variant they have, unlike the longer-range variant which Rever has only allocated 5,000 units.
