Mulliner-designed coupes have been crafted in the ilk of Bentley’s 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour-winning racer
Bentley has revealed a pair of bespoke new Continental GT S coupes in celebration of the British marque’s victory in the 2020 Bathurst 12 Hour.
The reveal of the two special Aussie-themed vehicles, which were created by Bentley’s Mulliner customisation division and Bentley Sydney, coincides with the launch of the 2023 Bentley Continental GT S but – unlike the production vehicles – no pricing or availability details have been announced.
However, we do have the core specifications of each model, one of which is finished in an exclusive Apple Green and ‘Beluga’ black colourway designed to mimic the livery and aero features of the racer.
The aggressive look is continued by the standard inclusion of the Blackline Specification, which blacks-out all the exterior trim and is enhanced further by the Styling Specification that adds a carbon-fibre front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.
Inside the cabin is an equally unique blend of Beluga upholstery (leather and Dinamica) and Apple Green highlights, with ‘BATHURST’ logos embossed into the head restraints of both front seats and bespoke ‘One of Two’ treadplates.
A unique metal overlay of the Mount Panorama circuit has been included on the carbon passenger side trim, while the names of the winning drivers (Maxime Soulet, Jordan Pepper, Jules Gounon) and their race number can be found on the centre console.
The other model largely mirrors these unique styling cues but instead flaunts a ‘Silver Tempest’ body colour in honour of the second-generation Continental GT3’s motorsport introduction in late 2017.
Both models proudly wear a ‘7’ motif on their black radiator grilles as per the winning racer and each will come with a ‘commemorative framed artefact’ and 1:18 scale model of the competition vehicle.
While the interior and exterior cosmetics are unique, no changes have been made to either vehicle’s powertrain, meaning they share the same 404kW/770Nm twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive system and focused chassis tune as the standard Continental GT S.
“Bentley quickly became an iconic part of the Bathurst 12 hour and a fan favourite team of most who attended,” Bathurst 12 Hour event director Shane Rudzis said.
“They ‘brought the thunder’ to the Mountain and their 2020 victory remains one of the most popular in the history of the race, creating iconic scenes that will long be replayed.”
