British luxury carmaker Bentley has revealed the new Flying Spur Speed. The Bentley Flying Spur Speed will be one of the last models to feature the marque’s iconic W12 engine.
The new Bentley Flying Spur Speed also replaces the standard Flying Spur W12 which went out of production a few months ago in May 2022. However, unlike the Continental GT Speed, the new Flying Spur Speed isn’t more powerful than the regular Flying Spur that it has replaced in the British marque’s lineup.
This means the twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine under the bonnet of the new Flying Spur Speed continues to push out 626bhp at 6,000rpm and 900Nm of peak torque between 1,500 and 5,000rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and continues to accelerate till it tops out at 333km/h.
The Bentley Flying Spur Speed offers four driving modes – Comfort, Bentley, Custom and Sport. The exhaust system on the Flying Spur Speed features adaptive valve control allowing more sound out when you put your foot down in sport mode while muffling down the volume levels to a discrete level in Comfort or Bentley mode.
The Bentley Flying Spur Speed also features an electronically controlled three-chamber air suspension setup all around. The air suspension setup is aided by a 48V powered active anti-roll system that adapts to changing driving conditions. This system ensures that the Flying Spur Speed is kept stable when cornering at speed without compromising on ride comfort when the luxury limo wafts past everyone else on the roads.
In terms of looks, the new Flying Spur Speed differentiates itself from other members of the clan with the help of a few custom design touches. These include the blacked out upper and lower grilles at the front and the dark surrounds for the headlights and taillights.
The optional ‘Styling Specification’ adds a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler all of which are made from carbon fibre. Another optional package switches all chrome elements to gloss black elements. The Flying Spur Speed rides on a set of new 22-inch alloy wheels.
The new Flying Spur Speed features 15 different colour options for the leather upholstery. The digital instrument cluster features new graphics which Bentley claims are inspired by luxury chronographs.
