Just in case these RS cars weren’t fast enough already, Audi has taken things one step further with RS6 and RS7 for 2023
Audi has announced it will be making its RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback quicker than ever with a new performance edition for each.
Much like the recently revealed RS3 performance, Audi has tinkered with the two models to make them sharper and more capable.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine has been tuned to deliver 22kW more power and 50Nm more torque than before, raising the total figures to 463kW/850Nm.
The new Audi RS7 Sportback Performance
Both the RS6 and RS7 can now achieve the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the ‘regular’ cars.
Chasing Cars has reached out to Audi Australia to clarify if the new RS6/7 performance editions will be arriving here locally in the future.
What else has changed for these fast Audis?
Both the RS6 and RS7 have had their power and torque figures lifted
Audi has removed much of the sound deadening throughout the vehicles, providing the driver with “an exciting, next-level sound experience”. The removal of sound insulation has shaved eight kilograms from the car, too.
These are still no lightweights, though, with the RS6 weighing 2090kg, while the RS7 hits the scales at 2065kg.
A new centre-locking differential will be standard on these performance editions, allowing up to 70 percent of power to flow to the front axle and up to 85 percent to the rear axle.
Optional 22-inch milled wheels save 5kg each
While 21-inch wheels are standard for the RS6/7, owners will be able to option larger 22-inch lightweight items that Audi says is 5kg lighter than the 21-inch alloy wheels.
Also now standard on the performance editions is the RS dynamic package that includes a higher top speed (280km/h), all-wheel steering and a quattro sport differential on the rear axle.
Owners can go even further with the RS Dynamic package plus which boosts top speed even further to 305km/h and also includes a ceramic brake package that reduces the weight of the brakes by a significant 34 kilograms.
