Audi RS 4 Avant and RS 5 handed sharper attitude
Audi is sharpening the appeal, while also adding pizzaz, to the driving experience of its RS 4 Avant and RS 5 coupe and Sportback models with the introduction of the new competition package.
The key changes in both models include an RS sport suspension pro with a manually-adjustable coil-over suspension that lowers both cars’ suspension by an additional 10 mm compared to the regular RS variants.
Furthermore, the suspension can be lowered by 10 mm manually for an overall ride height that is 20 mm lower than the normal cars. Both cars come standard with a higher spring rate, three-way adjustable dampers, and stiffer stabilizers.
It definitely looks lower, yes?
Go-faster additions
On the outside, the Audi RS 4 Avant and RS 5 Coupe and Sportback models come in a matching crystal effect Sebring Black finish for the first time. Buyers can purchase high-sheen competition wheels in Phantom Black and if you ask nicely, Audi will combine the 20” wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa high-performance tyres that can be used on the road and racetrack.

Audi says due to the newly installed ABS software in combination with RS ceramic brake system and Pirelli P Zero rubbers, the brake path is up to two meters shorter when braking from 100 km/h.
Who doesn't love a carbon-trim side mirror…
Offered as standard on the RS 5 are Matrix LED headlights while both the RS 4 Avant and Audi RS 5 can be had with the exclusive Carbon Matte Optics Package which adds carbon matte treatment on the exterior mirrors, front blade, and side flaps as well as the sill extension and rear diffuser trim. All other components shine in black.
The Dynamic Steering System has been revised and now boasts a ratio locked in at 1:13:1 while the parameters for the Sport Differential mounted on the rear axle have also been tweaked for enhanced torque vectoring.
Marginally faster is still faster
Motivation still comes from an unaltered 2.9-litre V6 TFSI engine that churns out 331 kW and 600 Nm sent to both axles. The 8-speed automatic transmission software has been revised to shorten shift times and that has shaved off 0.1 seconds of the sprint time to 100 km/h.
Blink and it's gone!
With the tweaks, the Audi RS 4 hurtles from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and 3.8 seconds for the RS 5 respectively. The top speed has been electronically increased to 290 km/h from 250 km/h.
According to Audi, the insulation between the engine compartment and the interior has been reduced to thrill customers with an exciting, next-level sound experience emitted through the new RS sports exhaust system with its matte black tailpipes.
At this stage, the local arm of the German marque hasn’t released any official word regarding the arrival of the duo.
