British carmaker Aston Martin has teased its next flagship grand tourer, expected to be dubbed the DB12, with a trio of images.
The Aston Martin DB12, which is widely expected to be James Bond’s next car (provided they finally decide to reveal who the next one is) will be revealed in its entire glory to the world on the 24th of May.
The three images of the upcoming Aston Martin grand tourer show us a few details of what we can expect on May 24th. The first of the images show the lights, bonnet and grille of the upcoming DB12.
The headlights are three cluster units and the overall shape seems to be an evolution of those seen on the DB11. The grille is the one we’ve come to expect from Aston Martin.
The bonnet features some rather aggressive lines hinting at the powerful engine hiding underneath. The new Aston Martin DB12 is expected to retain the firm’s 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine as well as AMG’s 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 powerplant.
The second image of the car shows off the side profile of the upcoming Aston Martin DB12. The grand tourer features flush door handles and features a similar vent next to the front wheels as the one on the DB11.
The upcoming DB12 from Aston Martin rides on some snazzy gold-coloured alloy wheels which look rather cool against the DB12’s green paint job.
The third and final image gives us a glimpse into the interior of the upcoming British grand tourer. The image is of the centre console which seems to have been rather nicely updated.
The upcoming DB car features a new display for infotainment which can also tweak the climate control settings as well. Thankfully there are quite a few buttons around as well for those who abhor touchscreens.
Thoughts: Aston Martin will reveal all the details about its next DB grand tourer, which is expected to be called the DB12 on the 24th of May. And while it looks to be a curveball, the upcoming DB12 may just be one of the last few cars from the firm that will not arrive with electrical help for its ICE powerplant.
Aston Martin is steadily heading towards electrification. The Valkyrie uses a hybrid powertrain as does the upcoming Valhalla. The firm is also planning to introduce an EV in the near future as it looks to take on its rivals under the ownership of Lawrence Stroll.
