Allego will install 1,500 charge points at furniture stores by the Porta Group. The German family business, which includes outlets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has opted for a mix of 50 and 150 kW chargers accessible to customers and third parties alike.
According to Allego, the order includes charging stations for 123 Porta Group sites, with the company focusing on Germany. The first fast charging stations are live at Porta stores in Potsdam (Brandenburg), Altenburg (Thuringia) and Markranstädt (Saxony). In addition, the charging infrastructure company has equipped the Porta Group headquarters in Porta Westfalica (East Westphalia) with high-power charging stations available to staff and visitors.
According to the partners, the charging stations are future-proofed and can be upgraded to ultra-fast charging. They will be available to visitors at Porta locations and electric car drivers passing through. All charging stations can be found on Allego’s Smoov app and third-party charging apps.
The management of the Porta Group said they were looking for a partner who could pave the way into the future in terms of scalability and innovative knowledge and experience with companies like ours. After our first test run in Potsdam in 2021, we decided to continue on this path with Allego, so the statement.
Allego’s Chief Executive Officer, Mathieu Bonnet, added, “We made a conscious decision to offer lower charging capacities and more charging points, as the dwell time in the furniture stores is usually longer. The Porta Group comprises 30 Porta furniture stores and around 100 branches of the furnishing discounter SB-Möbel BOSS in Germany. The furniture retailer Möbel Letz, present in Saxony-Anhalt, also belongs to the group, alongside 22 furniture stores of ASKO Group in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
