In an attempt to attract new customers, the country’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has launched an all-new Limited Edition of its top-selling SUV the Bolero Neo. The new Bolero Neo Limited Edition has been introduced at a price of Rs 11,49,900 (ex-showroom). This Limited Edition model has been given a few updates on the exterior and on the interior as well. However, mechanically the model remains unaltered.
Speaking of the changes Mahindra has given the limited edition Bolero Neo roof ski-racks, fog lights, headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, and a spare wheel cover finished in a shade of Deep Silver. While apart from these the rest of the SUV is the same as the outgoing model. The new edition is based on the outgoing top-of-the-line N10 variant.
Meanwhile, on the interior, the SUV now gets dual-tone faux leather seats and lumbar support for the driver and co-passenger. It also gets a height-adjustable driver seat, a center console with silver armrests, and arm-rests for the first and second rows. Furthermore, in terms of new tech, it gets a reverse parking camera, cruise control, BlueSense-connected car technology, steering-mounted controls, and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In terms of the drivetrain side of things the all-new Bolero Neo Limited Edition will get the same 1.5-liter mHawk bi-turbo engine that generates a maximum power of 100 PS and peak torque of 260 Nm. It will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It will also come equipped with Mahindra’s micro-hybrid technology that automatically shuts down the vehicle when idling for more than a few seconds on a traffic signal. It also automatically starts the vehicle as well.
In other Bolero Neo news, the model was the top-selling SUV for the brand in India, with 7,311 units sold last month. This sales figure represented a 38 percent increase over December 2021 sales, when Mahindra sold 5,314 units of the Bolero. Both rural Indian markets and state governments have shown a strong interest in the Mahindra Bolero Neo. Its fortunes have altered as a result of the discontinuation of the original Bolero SUV and the rebranding of the TUV300 as the Bolero Neo. Mahindra made every attempt to make the TUV300 a popular SUV, but it failed. However, the Bolero Neo has achieved success as a result of its enhanced features and design.
Furthermore second the list of top selling Mahindra SUVs last month was the Scorpio Classic/ Scorpio-N lineup. The total sales were just a little over 7,000 units, representing a 300 percent increase over the same time in 2021. Mahindra was only able to sell 1,757 Scorpio vehicles in December 2021. The XUV700 grabbed the third position with 5,623 units sold, up 20% from 3,980 units in December 2021. Although the XUV300 and Thar, two other Mahindra SUVs, also fared well, they did not have as much of an influence on sales as the Bolero, Scorpio, and XUV700. Mahindra saw a solid YoY gain in December 2022 sales thanks to its strong SUV lineup. There was a 62.13 percent increase in overall dispatches from 17,476 units in December 2021 to to 28,333 units in December 2022.
