As the first company to introduce built-in Smart Tags into its cars, Perodua is living up to its reputation of the company that understands the needs of Malaysian drivers best. The 2022 now comes with MyRFID tags pre-installed.
Of course, the owner will need to do the final activation steps by linking their TnG eWallets to the car. Presumably, the instructions and documents to complete the setup will be handed to the customer by the dealer.
The RFID tags are installed on the windscreen.
If you are fan of the old school but reliable Smart Tag, unfortunately the built-in toll reader is not available in the new Alza. It remains a – and -only feature.
The all-new 2022 Perodua Alza is available in 3 variants:
- Alza 1.5 X: RM 62,500
- Alza 1.5 H: RM 68,000
- Alza 1.5 AV: RM 75,500
Estimated waiting period is around 10 months. Perodua has over 30,000 outstanding bookings that it needs to fulfil before 31-March 2023, the cut-off date to register SST-exempted cars.
65 percent of bookings are for the highest specifications AV variant.
