Not too much additional information has been divulged in a clandestine announcement, all that is known for certain at this point is the date and time of the anticipated event. Accompanying the statement below, an image presumably showcasing the scudetto grille of the 6C supercar with decals of the Visconti serpent can be seen.
On Wednesday, August 30th at 5:00pm CEST, Alfa Romeo will unveil to the world a creation brought about by the courage and passion of a team striving to make its dream come true. A veritable appointment with history, a unique moment of pure Italian automotive excitement, to be experienced first-hand.
For fans of Made in Italy and Alfa Romeo, this will be truly thrilling. For those not yet won over, the unveiling of this beauty is sure to awaken a passion deep inside.
This is how passions come about.
The model, which reportedly shares underpinnings with Maserati’s MC20 will serve as the long-awaited full-fat sports car from the Italian automaker, one last hoorah before going ahead with their electrification plans by the close of the decade. Other rumours also suggest that the automaker will rebirth the famed ’33’ nomenclature for the anticipated model, an ode to its iconic road and racecars from yore.
This then, is a dream come true for Alfisti, which is appropriate since the announcement includes the slogan “il coraggio di sognare” or “the courage to dream.” If it does share the DNA of its Maserati counterpart, it will more than likely come with the Nettuno V6 engine which offers 463 kW and 730 Nm, good for a sub-3 second 0-100 km/h.
That’s rather fast, and the remarkable engine can be thanked for that. Developed, designed and built entirely by Maserati, the twin-turbocharged V6 features pre-chamber combustion technology which is genuinely derived from Formula 1 engines.
