Alfa Romeo is sending a special version of the 2022 Giulia to Canada from Italy, presumably with love.
Just 15 of the cars will make their way to the nation, each with a Verde Montreal Tri-coat paint colour formerly reserved for the Giulia Quadrifoglio, plus a number of other exclusive interior and exterior features.
Based on the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce, the model borrows some of the Quadrifoglio trim’s high-performance perks, like Alfa Adaptive Suspension, a control system that scans the road ahead to maximize drivability while maintaining comfort in whatever mode the driver has selected.
Power is provided by the Veloce’s standard turbo 2L four-cylinder hooked to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Alfa’s Q4 AWD system. That churns out 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque, and will motivate the Speciale up to 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.1 seconds.
Other distinguishing bits include black badging on the exterior, a carbon-fibre take on the brand’s classic ‘V scudetto’ grille, and staggered 19-inch five-hole wheels with a dark finish, yellow calipers, and carbon-fibre side sills also found on the Quadrifoglio. Inside, leather with red stitching and the occasional carbon-fibre accent covers the door panels, shift lever, centre armrest, steering wheel, and dash. Black leather sport seats and a Harmon Kardon sound system round out the package.
“Alfa Romeo and the City of Montreal have a proud connection to each other, and the new Giulia Speciale model enhances that relationship by providing consumers with an unrivaled driving experience and a head-turning appearance unique to Canada,” said Larry Dominique, head of Alfa Romeo, North America.

“With adaptive suspension providing unsurpassed performance, plus a sporty and premium interior, this limited-edition model encompasses the true passion of Alfa Romeo.”
The 2022 Giulia Speciale is slated to arrive at Canadian Alfa Romeo locations later this month with an MSRP of $71,995, but Montrealers can get a sneak peek at the machine at the Formula Peel event running now until the beginning of the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix on June 19 in Montreal.
