Abarth is gearing up to launch its first electric car. The new electric car will be based on the Fiat 500 Electric hatchback.
According to sources, the upcoming electric version of the Abarth 500 will look quite similar, however, there will be presence of Abarth specific elements to let the onlookers know that this car is not a regular Fiat 500 Electric.
These changes could include more aggressive bumpers, larger alloy wheels, more aggressive air inlets and outlets, roof spoiler or a combination of any of these.
Apart from that, Fiat is also being very tight-lipped regarding the specifications and other details about their upcoming electric car based on the Fiat 500 Electric.
As we know that the top-end version of the Fiat 500 Electric is powered by a 42kWh battery pack and an electric motor producing 116bhp of max power, expect the electric version of the Abarth 500 to produce somewhere around 200bhp and a slightly larger battery pack to provide the upcoming pocket-rocket with enough juice to return home after some fun.
While the standard Fiat 500 can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 9 seconds, expect the upcoming Abarth version of the Fiat 500 Electric to achieve the same feat under 7 seconds.
Apart from that expect the upcoming Abarth version of the Fiat 500 Electric to have a similar range as the standard model. This means the upcoming Abarth version of the Fiat 500 Electric will have an electric range of 300kms to 350kms on a full charge under ideal conditions.
In addition to this, a new model from Abarth is very essential as the only Abarth model currently on sale is the Abarth 595, which is related to the earlier petrol-powered Fiat 500s.
Moreover, with the launch of the new Abarth version of the Fiat 500 Electric, the new model is likely to replace the ageing Abarth 595 and thus putting an end to internal combustion engines under the Abarth product portfolio.
There are also rumours of another Abarth model that will go on sale from early 2025 and is expected to be based on the Fiat product portfolio.
Thoughts About Abarth’s New Electric Car Based On The Fiat 500 Electric
The upcoming Abarth version of the Fiat 500 Electric will give Abarth a new face and it will be also a new chapter for Abarth. We have high expectations for this car as Abarth is taking their own sweet time to develop the car.
