We can't quite decide if this is a hit or a miss.
There is no shortage of Lancia-inspired restomods out there, but that didn't stop Milanese outfit Scuderia Grassi from unveiling yet another, referencing the Lancia Delta S4 Integrale, an icon of the Italian automaker's back catalog. Details on the Grassi 044S, as it is known, are scant, but we know that this is intended for limited production and has a high-performance turbocharged engine designed to comply with Euro 7 emissions regulations.
44 examples will reportedly be made, each producing 640 horsepower thanks to a rear-mounted 3.0-liter biturbo four-pot. Thanks to a target weight of around 2,425-2,646 pounds, acceleration ought to be impressive. According to the outfit's estimates, 0-62 mph will take only 2.9 seconds, and the top speed should reach 186 mph.

As you'd expect, power goes to all four wheels through three differentials and your choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed sequential. Sadly, no images of the cabin have been revealed, likely because this model unveiled at the 2023 Milano Monza Motor Show (MiMo) is not yet fully functional.
On the outside, 19-inch wheels reference the Delta Integrale Evoluzione, while the wing mirrors appear to have been borrowed from an E36 BMW M3. The bodywork is clearly wild, and the exhaust tip arrangement is unconventional, but take a closer look, and you'll notice a distinct lack of shut lines besides around the doors. Even the frunk area appears to only be accessible via a sort of retractable panels like an old sunroof.

Pricing and delivery information have not yet been revealed, but we suspect that there will be a six-figure price attached to this toy. Unfortunately, these images do not suggest that the Grassi 044S is as well-finished as a Kimera EVO37, and while its performance figures are healthy, they're not exceptional. To be honest, we're glad only 44 are being made. The Grassi 044S is overstyled yet underwhelming, at least to this writer's eyes.
We'd rather buy ourselves a Giulia Quadrifoglio as a daily driver and one of the original Lancias as a weekend toy. Or, if you have the patience, you can wait until 2026 to see what Lancia itself does when it comes back from the dead.
