5 Things to Love About the Jaguar F-Pace SVR
Yes, we reviewed the legendary Jaguar F-Pace SVR facelift when it graced our driveway back in 2021. More recently, however, we had the Avocado Green coloured variant for test and, besides the colour, we learned there's plenty to love about the super SUV.
Here are five things we loved about the Avocado Green F-Pace SVR that we're sure you'll love too.
Obviously, that Avo Green colour
“Make them green with envy.” I bet that's what the brief to Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division read when they were working on this colour. As soon as they nailed it, it only made sense to name it after something as Instagram-trendy as avocado toast – without the toast.
Indeed, this is the only way to describe the paint colour. I love it.
Trends aside, Jaguar Land Rover models have always been available in some shade of green paint. As far back as before mid-1949, early models were finished in Light Green, reminiscent of World War II aircraft hues.
The updated interior
Truth be told, the cabin of the outgoing Jaguar F-Pace had been a problem for many years. Fortunately, Jaguar has returned to the inventory list and specced out the model to resemble the rest of the Jaguar Land Rover family. You get a new steering wheel, trim pieces in aluminium, a new dashboard, bespoke leather and wood finishes here and there.
One thing is for sure, JLR put in a lot of consideration for the most frequently touched points in the cabin; for starters, the paddle shifters tattle delightfully, the new steering wheel is a pleasure to hold and feels just right while the new seats are bolstered to comfort perfection with embossed Jaguar logos for an added touch of luxury.
Improved infotainment
You'll find the huge and slightly protruding 11.4″ PIVI Pro infotainment curved touchscreen in the centre console. It emphasises a gentle bow which makes it looks like you could unhinge it when you leave the car and use it as a tablet. Right next to it is a fully digital driver's display. Both have crisp yet restrained graphics. Elsewhere its UI is exceptionally streamlined compared to what we saw in the past.
Wireless connection to either Apple Carplay or Android Auto is seamless, as support to music streaming platforms. You also get a host of 360-degree cameras, blind spot monitoring and assistance with lane-keep assistance, rear traffic monitor and traffic sign recognition.
The engine still roars like a Jaguar
Jaguar's future calls for electric-only launches. Fortunately, as with most things about this F-Pace SVR, the 5.0-litre V8 supercharged V8 engine remains. It's good for 405 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque which, to our ears, is worthy of every exhaust note award you could find. 0-100 km/h comes in 4.0 seconds flat! Honey, hold my beer.
Outstanding driving dynamics
Performance in the F-Pace SVR is a bit on the firm side, as some of its German counterparts it sees as competition. The adaptive dynamics are very apparent, which brings a sense of fun to the entire thing.
With all that said, this Jaguar F-Pace looks and feels like the ultimate all-around package Jaguar has been missing to properly take on its German rivals.
