The all-new 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV is the latest addition to Chevy’s present and future lineup of zero-emission vehicles, which also includes the Bolt EV, Bolt EUV, Silverado EV and Blazer EV.
This sleek crossover was designed as a practical and affordable crossover for small families, whereas the Blazer EV is slightly bigger and more focused on performance.

American Cool
Chevy designers wanted the new Equinox EV to look cool and they decided to draw inspiration from classic cars of the 1960-1970 era as well as America’s vast expanses and signature landscapes.
The vehicle boasts clean yet sporty lines. LT models are available with a white roof, while RS models change it to black. Wheel sizes range from 19-21 inches.

Inside, a similarly sporty theme can be found around the standard 11-inch or available 17.7-inch centre touchscreen. An 11-inch digital instrument panel is included, too. Depending on the model, occupants will enjoy heated front and rear seats along with personalized ambient lighting.
In terms of utility, there’s 1,614 litres of cargo space when the rear seatbacks are down. The Equinox EV doesn’t come with a front trunk, however.
Up to 480 Km of Range
Built on GM’s Ultium platform, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will come in five trim levels with a choice of two batteries. When equipped with the smaller battery, output is rated at 210 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque. With the bigger pack, the vehicle delivers 290 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque.

Depending on the configuration, maximum range is either 400, 450 or 480 kilometres.
Standard 11.5 kW level 2 (AC) charging can add up to 54 km of range per hour of charging, GM estimates. When using the available 19.2kW charger, expect to regain 82 km of range per hour. As for DC fast charging on a 150kW charger, the process enables approximately 112 km of range to be added in 10 minutes.
Lots of Technologies
It’s no surprise that the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV follows the industry’s trend of offering a wide array of advanced safety and driver assistance technologies. Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam automatic high beams are all part of standard Chevy Safety Assist.
Available features include Adaptive Cruise Control, 360-degree HD Surround Vision, a Head-Up Display and Rear Camera Mirror. Hands-free highway driving is also possible thanks to optional Super Cruise.

How Much?
With a starting price of around $30,000 in the U.S. (likely in the low $40k range in Canada), the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be pretty affordable indeed (not to mention the available incentives of $5,000 from the Canadian government and up to $7,000 from provincial governments).
The model will launch in the fall of 2023, starting with a limited-edition 2RS in an exclusive body colour and featuring a standard 17.7-inch touchscreen.
