Fresh take on 350kW special-edition Polestar 2 EV adds extra style elements to BST 270
The 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 has been unveiled, picking up where the BST Edition 270 left off by offering buyers more power and a bespoke chassis tune in concert with new options for colours, graphics and interior trim.
Looking almost identical to the 2022 Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 that was launched last year, the new BST Edition 230 will be limited to just 230 units and comes in different colours and the latest grille from the recently updated Polestar 2.
The BST 230 is available in a newly-developed Nebula green exterior colour, as well as Space black, and features an optional black body stripe that combines with a ‘2’ bonnet decal.
Other exterior changes include body-coloured sills, wheel-arch cladding and gloss black mirror caps.
As standard, the special Polestar 2 gains large 21-inch wheels that show off the large gold-painted brake callipers.
Within, there’s Microsuede inserts for the seats and steering wheel and yet more gold used for the seat belts.
As standard, the BST 230 comes with the Plus pack that throws in a panoramic roof and premium sound system, as well as the Pilot pack that finally includes semi-autonomous cruise, pixel LED headlights and 360-degree cameras for easier parking.
Sharing the same dual-motor/all-wheel drive powertrain as the Polestar BST 270 from last year, the BST 230 produces 350kW and 680Nm of torque.
It can launch itself from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and top out at 205km/h.
Combined with a 78kWh battery, the Polestar 2 BST 230 can cover up to 460km between recharges.
Chassis changes introduced last year for the BST 270 carry over, including lowered suspension (-25mm) and Ohlins two-way adjustable dampers. The lower springs are also 20 per cent stiffer and combine with a front strut bar for a better, more precise turn-in.
The 21-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in bespoke 245/35 Pirelli P Zero tyres that were specially developed for the limited-run BST.
There’s no word yet on availability in Australia, but in Germany the fast ultra-exclusive Polestar 2 is priced from €81,000 ($A131,000) or €82,000 ($A132,500) with the optional matte black bonnet stripe and ‘2’ decal.
First European deliveries are expected from the third quarter of this year.
