For the 2023 model year, the Lexus UX drops the gas-engine variant. It will be offered exclusively as a hybrid. Combining an electric motor with a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, the hybrid powertrain delivers a total system output of 181 hp. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) and an all-wheel drive are standard for all UX models.
Compared to its luxury crossover SUV competitors like the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, the Lexus UX has fairly lackluster acceleration. It takes the UX 8.6 seconds to complete the 0-60 mph sprint. However, with its hybrid powertrain, the UX gets an estimated fuel economy of 39 city/41 highway mpg.
