2023 Isuzu D-Max facelift: What's new? A lot actually...

All 4×4 variants now come with an electronic rear diff-lock as standard

Isuzu Malaysia today took the wraps off the new and enhanced 2023 Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, featuring a host of new features that make the truck look sportier, more modern, and more practical.

Just like before, there will be a total of eight variants with prices (OTR without insurance, individual private) as mentioned below:

The most notable enhancement is the addition of new body colours for the X-Terrain and Premium variants, namely Islay Gray Mica which we’re looking at here, Biarritz Blue Metallic which replaces the outgoing Sapphire Blue, and Dolomite White Pearl which replaces the current Silky Pearl White.

And then we have the new front grille design which makes the D-Max look sportier than before. Also new is the new wheel design as well as the refreshed body accents and new livery and stickers.

Moving into the cabin, most of the variants now come with a blacked out interior with newly designed seats, with contrasting Cafe Brown soft touch material on the dashboard and door panels.

The D-Max also gets new front and rear Digital Video Recorders, which come with 1440P resolution in front and 1080P resolution at the rear. The footages can be saved in the onboard memory card or downloaded into the owner’s mobile device using a dedicated app.

Exclusive for the X-Terrain, Premium, and Auto Plus variants is the new wireless charger that boasts 15W output. The X-Terrain and Premium trims also get an additional USB-C port for rapid charging.

In addition, the D-Max X-Terrain also gets new blue ambient lighting which is positioned at the footwells.

Other updates include a new remote keyless entry access and a 12V power socket for the Single Cab variants while the 3.0-litre Premium Auto variant gets a revised suspension set-up that is configured to handle heftier payloads, increasing from 580 kg to 775 kg.

The engine and gearbox combination remains unchanged in all variants. To recap, there are two engine choices, namely the 1.9-litre turbo diesel mill producing 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque, and the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque.

Depending on the variant, paired to the engines are either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift.

All 4×4 variants now come with an electronically-actuated rear differential lock as standard. These enhancements aside, everything remain the same as before.

Last but not least, the Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain is offered with a seven-year unlimited mileage warranty, while the other variants get a five-year or 150,000 km warranty.
