Hyundai has launched the all-new Verna, along with an official video commercial for the sedan. The commercial showcases the path-breaking design of the new Verna, which has received rave reviews for its dramatic styling both inside and out.
The commercial highlights the edgy styling of the all-new Hyundai Verna, which adopts the radical ‘sensuous sportiness’ approach of the bigger global offerings from Hyundai, such as the Elantra and Tucson. With aggressive lines flowing through its bonnet and side profile, Hyundai has given the car an all-new appeal.
At the front, the new Verna features a very wide grille that is set a bit lower, accommodating compact all-LED headlamps on its extreme upper corners. The projector fog lamps are placed on the lower corners of the front bumper. Above the grille, the new Verna gets a long strip of daytime running LED across the width of the bonnet.
The radical approach is also reflected in the rear profile of the new Verna, which features a long horizontal LED light bar joining the edgy-looking LED tail lamps. Along with the new LED light bar, the Verna also gets its name embedded within the housing for the light bar. The new Verna has outgrown its predecessor in dimensions and now has a longer wheelbase.
A completely new cabin
Hyundai has given the interior a cutting-edge design with the widescreen cockpit theme featuring two full-TFT screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment. Along with the compact dual-functioning control panel for auto AC and infotainment system, the touchscreen is also tilted towards the driver’s side. The contemporary-looking dashboard and premium-looking transmission levers shared with the Creta make the new Verna a much more modern place to be in.
The video commercial shows both versions of the new Hyundai Verna launched in India, with two engine options available – a 1.5-litre 115 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre 160 PS turbocharged petrol engine. Both engine options come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, and optional transmission options include CVT for the naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 7-speed DCT for the turbo-petrol engine.
With a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh, the new Hyundai Verna is now a fresher and more capable competitor to other sedans in its segment, including the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
