The Ford Mustang Mach-E will be more expensive than its big rival from Tesla, the Model Y, when it hits Australia later this year.
Pricing for the range opens at $79,990 before on-road costs for the base model Select, and extends to $108,990 before on-road costs for the flagship GT.
There are two battery options available within the range, with a 71kWh pack in the base Select and a 91kWh pack in the Premium and GT grades.
Range differs between models, with the base Select offering 470km, and the Premium with its larger battery offering up to 600km of range – both based on the WLTP cycle. The GT offers a claimed range of 490km.
Ford Australia says the vehicle will arrive on our shores later this year, with exact timing still to be confirmed.

Drivetrains
The Mustang Mach-E Select features a 71kWh battery which feeds a single electric motor on the rear axle. It produces 198kW of power and 430Nm of torque.
The mid-range Premium offers a larger 91kWh battery pack, which feeds a 216kW and 430Nm motor mounted on the rear axle.
The flagship GT model has two electric motors connected to a 91kWh battery, sending a combined 358kW of power and 860Nm of torque to all four wheels.
The GT has a claimed 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds.
Efficiency
The single-motor Select has a claimed range of 470km on the WLTP test cycle, while the Mustang Mach-E Premium RWD has a claimed 600km of range.
The dual-motor GT has a range of 490km based on the WLTP test cycle.
Maximum DC charging speed for the smaller 71kWh battery is 115kW, while the larger battery has a maximum charging rate of 150kW.
Dimensions
The Ford Mustang Mach-E measures in at 4714mm long, 1882mm wide and 1625mm tall, with a 2984mm wheelbase.
Boot capacity with the rear seats upright is 402 litres, which can be expanded to 1420 litres with the second row folded.
Ford has also included a ‘frunk’ or front trunk for additional luggage space, but has not confirmed the capacity.
Servicing and Warranty
Ford Australia is yet to announce servicing intervals.
It is likely the Ford Mustang Mach-E will be covered by a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty similar to the rest of the range.
Safety
The Ford Mustang Mach-E was awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on Euro NCAP testing.
It received an adult occupant protection rating of 92 per cent, a child occupant protection rating of 86 per cent, a vulnerable road user protection of 69 per cent, and a safety assist rating of 86 per cent.
Ford Australia has not released the full list of safety features for the Australian model as yet.

The Mustang Mach-E has FordPass connectivity as well as FordPass Power My Trip, which will find charging stations along a route that is entered into the satellite navigation.
Colours
A full list of paint options for the Mustang Mach-E are yet to be released by Ford Australia.
Customers will pay a $700 cost for prestige paint.
