A mid-year adjustment is not unusual.
The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor has received a mid-year price increase of $2,000 though we highly doubt this will deter buyers. The price boost was first uncovered by the Bronco6G enthusiast forum, which posted the memo sent to dealerships (pictured below). This change has already taken effect, beginning on March 20, 2023.
Typically, automakers don’t announce mid-year price changes such as this but they’re not unusual, especially in today’s market which continues to experience supply chain-related changes. No reason was given for the increase. Therefore, the 2023 Bronco Raptor now carries a starting price tag of $78,580, not including the $1,795 destination fee. Do the quick math and that brings the new minimum total to $80,375. Of course, adding options will bring the price even higher.
Still, the Bronco Raptor’s price tag is in line with that of its most direct competitor, the V8 Hemi-powered Jeep Wrangler 392. The latter begins at $84,290 with destination factored in. Unfortunately, both hardcore off-roaders continue to receive markups by dealers, something that’s not expected to change anytime soon. Forum members discussing the price increase are fully aware of these markups and are taking note.
One user wrote that “The dealer offering me raptor allocation for $10k ADM now only looks like $8k ADM lol. That being said, there are F150 raptors everywhere, every time I drive. I even see 392 wranglers all the time. I just need to wait it out, probably mid to late next year.” In other words, serious buyers are paying close attention and some are more than willing to wait. The SUV quickly sold out last year.
It's also a good idea to shop around dealers throughout the country. And if anyone is still waiting for a V8-powered Bronco Raptor R, well, don't because it's not going to happen. We found out last November that the Bronco's engine bay is too narrow for anything larger than the current 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which pumps out an impressive 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.
There's been talk of a V8-powered Bronco Raptor ever since the F-150 Raptor R was launched but the F-150 was designed from the get-go to accommodate a larger engine. The Bronco, however, rides on the same T6 platform as the mid-size Ranger. In all likelihood, this isn't the last we've seen of Bronco Raptor price adjustments. The '24 model year is just around the corner and, hopefully, any changes won't be too extreme.
