Fiat has taken the wraps off the upcoming Fiat Abarth Pulse compact SUV and it is the first SUV to wear the prestigious ‘Abarth’ badge.
The making of the new Fiat Abarth Pulse is the result of the added focus on the Abarth brand by the parent company, Stellantis JV. Earlier, Stellantis had announced that ‘Abarth’ will be treated as a brand and not as a sub-brand.
Speaking about Stellantis JV, it is a 50-50 joint venture between the Fiat Chrysler corporation (Italian American) and PSA Group (French).
As part of developing the Abarth as a brand, Stellantis has developed the Fiat Abarth Pulse performance compact SUV.
The new performance SUV from Abarth could be named Fiat Pulse Abarth and is most likely to be launched initially in the South American markets, where the Fiat brand is the strongest and the Fiat Pulse SUV is already on sale there in a few countries.
We expect the upcoming Fiat Abarth Pulse compact SUV to come with a more powerful engine, sportier suspension, and a whole host of visual updates to look more distinct from the standard Fiat Pulse models.
As of now, Stellantis has already revealed the pictures of the upcoming Fiat Abarth Pulse SUV, however, Abarth is being tight-lipped about the specifications of the upcoming performance compact SUV.
From the released pictures, part of the visual upgrades include sportier exterior paint jobs, larger alloy wheels, Abarth decals, twin chrome exhaust tips, sportier front and rear bumpers, Abarth stickering and logos, blacked-out roof, and a few more.
According to a few sources, the upcoming Fiat Abarth Pulse compact SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine with power in excess of 185bhp and this engine will be mated either to 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT unit.
Speaking about Stellantis in India, the joint venture already has a pretty strong foothold in India with brands such as Jeep and Citroen.
Thoughts About The Fiat Abarth Pulse SUV
The Fiat Abarth Pulse seems to be a fun little SUV and the success of this SUV in the South American markets will lay the foundation for Abarth as a brand.
