After a single model-year hiatus, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is returning for 2023. That’s good news for shoppers who want a 700-plus-horsepower, three-row SUV but missed out on the Hellcat-powered Durango’s limited run for 2021, and bad news for speculators who were holding on to a 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat, hoping to cash in when values climbed.
The initial run of Durango SRT Hellcats was constrained both by pandemic-related production issues as well as model-year 2022 fuel economy rules. Dodge has not revealed how many 2023 Durango SRT Hellcats will be built, nor how long it will survive.
Little else will change from 2021 to 2023: Under the hood, you’ll still find the same supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 producing a whopping 710 hp and 645 pounds-feet of torque. Dodge says the Durango SRT Hellcat can go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and complete a quarter-mile sprint in 11.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 180 mph. (We matched those times when we took a 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat to a drag strip, which you can read about above.) Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Lest you think a 700-plus-hp SUV can’t be family friendly, the Durango SRT Hellcat comes with three rows of seats and an impressive maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds. Buyers can add a Plus Package to get leather upholstery, a power sunroof and upgraded safety features. The Premium Package includes Plus Package content along with a leather-wrapped dashboard, red seat belts, carbon-fiber trim and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.
Orders will open for the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat in September, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2023. We expect to learn pricing closer to the on-sale date.
