Toyota announced the all-new Hilux in the Indian market way back in January. The new pick-up truck gets a starting price of Rs 33.99 lakh for the 4X4 manual standard, which is the entry-level variant. All the variants of the new Hilux will come with a 4X4 system as standard.

Overview
The new Toyota Hilux is based on the same IMV-2 platform that underpins the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market. That is why a lot of design highlights are similar to the Innova Crysta including the front hexagonal grille, which is bigger in size. The Hilux is massive in size and gets a butch looking front-end.

Toyota will offer the Hilux in five colours including Emotional Red, White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Super White and Grey Metallic.
What does Toyota Hilux offer inside the cabin?
The all-new Hilux gets a cabin layout that looks very similar to the Toyota Fortuner. It gets an all-black cabin with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is an eight-speaker JBL sound system. The Hilux is loaded with features and also offers ventilated front seats, a cruise control system, eight-way electrically adjustable front seats, app-based connected car tech and a wireless smartphone charger.
Gets only one engine option
There is only one 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine option available
Toyota offers the all-new Hilux with only one 2.8-litre, four-cylinder, diesel-engine that also powers the Toyota Fortuner. The 2.8-litre diesel engine generates a maximum power of 201 Bhp and peak torque of 420 Nm with the manual variant with the Hilux.
Toyota also offers a torque convertor with the Hilux and the engine output increases to 500 Nm with the automatic transmission. The transmission options get drive-assist features like hill-assist, brake assist, hill descent control, electronic stability program (ESP), limited-slip differential and a differential lock.
4X4 is standard across the range
All the variants of the Toyota Hilux get 4X4 as standard. It can do some serious off-roading and gets a water wading depth of 700mm.
Toyota is not taking any new bookings for the Hilux in the Indian market. The brand stopped taking new bookings after an overwhelming response. Toyota is yet to announce the new booking window.
