Mitsubishi’s Triton ute line-up has been given a small shake-up for 2022, with specification for cab-chassis, GLX and GSR pick-ups updated, as well as price rises across the range.
The entry-level 4×2 Triton line-up moves up by as much as $1200, while the 4×4 range increases by up to $1650.
Full price changes can be seen in the table below.
Some grades do score specification upgrades to justify the price increase however, with all versions of the diesel-powered cab-chassis body style, as well as the GLX pick-up, now fitted a new 7.0-inch MiDisplay multimedia screen with features including Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, digital radio and Bluetooth.
The base petrol GLX cab-chassis meanwhile, retains its 6.1-inch multimedia touchscreen with CD player.
The top-spec GSR also gains a new multimedia system, which measures 7.0 inches in size and sports a six-speaker output, digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a surround-view camera to make parking easier.
The GLS and GSR Tan Orange interior options also carry over from before, with the former adding leather appointed seat trims, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and a surround-view monitor to the automatic GLS dual-cab pick-up variant, while the latter adds tan orange interior accents to the GSR grade.
Buyers of the top-spec GSR can also option the Roll Top Tonneau Pack, which bundles a black roll top tonneau cover, sports bar, tub liner and tail gate lock.
With the GSR Tan Orange and Toll Top Tonneau Pack options ticked, customers can configure their own Ford Ranger Wiltrak-rivalling Mitsubishi Triton, priced at $63,390 before on-road costs.
Like before, all Tritons barring the most affordable, is powered by a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, outputting 133kW/430Nm.
Drive is sent to the rear, or all four, wheels via a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, with fuel economy rated from 7.8-8.6 litres per 100km depending on specification.
The base 4×2 GLX single cab-chassis is powered exclusively by a 94kW/194Nm 2.4-litre petrol engine, which is paired to a five-speed manual and boasts a fuel consumption figure of 11.4L/100km.
Standard safety across the 2022 Triton range includes hill start assist, a speed limiter and emergency brake assist, while higher grades gain access to forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, misacceleration mitigation and hill-decent control.
Like all new Mitsubishis sold in Australia, the 2022 Triton comes with a 10-year conditional warranty – the longest offered by any brand locally.
