The 2022 Jeep Compass has been revised for the new year, with a reworked, full-time entry-level variant – but price rises applicable across the range.
Replacing the Launch Edition introduced with the Compass small SUV’s mid-life facelift last year – and returning from the small Jeep’s pre-facelift range – the new Night Eagle variant is largely similar in terms of standard features, but adds black finishes to the 18-inch wheels, roof, badges, and exterior and interior trim.
However, the Night Eagle is $2000 more expensive than the variant it replaces, now priced from $39,950 before on-road costs.
The rest of the Compass range (comprising Limited, S-Limited and Trailhawk variants) is up $1000 over late 2021 pricing (when a price rises came into force in November/December), or up $1400 over the figures announced at the facelift’s launch last year – despite no new standard equipment.
The prices of premium paint and the optional panoramic sunroof have increased to $895 (from $645) and $2200 (from $1950) respectively, while the S-Limited and Trailhawk’s option packages are each $245 more expensive than before.

Powering the Compass Night Eagle, Limited and S-Limited is a shared 2.4-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 129kW and 229Nm. It’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive in the Night Eagle, or a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive in the other variants.
Meanwhile, the Trailhawk upgrades to a 125kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. This engine requires AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid.
Pearl White will be available to order from July 2022, replacing Bright White on the exterior colour palette.
