British manufacturer Aston Martin has had a tumultuous 2021 – struggling finances and mechanical gaffs coincided with the launch of multiple exciting new models, a factory-backed Formula One team, and a new product-centric James Bond film.
However, just one new model will be introduced in Australia in 2022: the Aston Martin V12 Vantage.
Power is expected to come from the manufacturer’s in-house 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine which, In the low-volume Aston Martin Speedster, sends 515kW/753Nm to the road via an eight-speed automatic torque converter transmission.
With local pricing and specifications set to be announced closer to launch, the car will be offered alongside the existing V8-powered Vantage coupe and Roadster, DBX SUV, DBS grand tourer, and DB11 coupe and Volante convertible.
A convertible variant of the Valkyrie hypercar is also slated to go on sale in Europe next year, however this car will – at least initially – not be offered Down Under.
Drive understands various other production cars and concepts are reportedly set to be launched in 2022 under new CEO Tobias Moers. Stay tuned for all the latest updates.
