About the Audi e-tron

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
Over the one and a half years of ownership and 70,000km done on my e-tron and a few services along its lifetime I am impressed on how it held up.
From the interior to the exterior and the whole technology within the car, you can believe me as I use my e-tron as a limousine service car or also known as Hire Car in NSW.
Alongside this the complementary service that Audi offers to customers (six years) really helps with the whole EV experience, additionally, Audi adds six years of free fast and ultra-fast charging to its customers.
I’ve used DC charging almost daily and haven’t paid a cent. Unfortunately, I’ve started to see a decline in the battery range, a few months ago I was receiving 370km and now it’s dropped to 250km when charged to 100 per cent which isn’t ideal.
Another issue I’ve experienced was wing cameras building condensation, fortunately Audi replaced it under warranty.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
The experience of owning an EV in general and living in public charging is much easier than previously thought, the benefits of cost savings are a huge improvement to my previous diesel BMW.
My clients are in love with the car and I’ve had some who would purchase one the next day. Some days aren’t perfect such as if a charging station goes out of order or if queuing occurs at chargers.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
The purchase from Audi was easy and quick, there are lots of helpful people and I made good friends along the way with the Audi team at Audi Centre Sydney.
The car over time has been staying strong, some modifications I’ve done are replacing the rear badges with black which really helps the contrast against the silver and black details along the car. I would recommend PPF as some rock chips and paint ware around the front and rear bumpers have occurred on my vehicle.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
The price might not be appealing, but for people who can afford it’s more about the quality that you are paying for rather than range or performance.
The side cameras that my First Edition came with were a challenge at first but after a week you get used to the idea of using them properly, at night and on rainy days making it work really well. I like the charging port location are on both sides for AC which makes it handy for cable reach if needed.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
As I don’t pay for any fuel cost savings have been very high and charging the e-tron is very good.
Even though it can take 150kW max on a charge, what the e-tron does well holds the 150kW to almost 100 per cent managing a constant rate of charge. The size of the car doesn’t make it good for efficiency when it comes to aerodynamics and weight, which gives around 25kWh/100km.
What do you think of the technology in your car?
The technology is easy to use and follow: three screens for climate, media and driver display are all very configurable to what the driver wants to use.
The cameras provide this car with a more futuristic approach and definitely draw attention to those who haven’t seen one yet drive past.
It might not have YouTube or Netflix and games, but you can definitely enjoy the B&O sound system within the car. The surround cameras show realistic camera angles and details that help with parking much easier for this long SUV.
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
The e-tron comes with air suspension as standard which helps with ride comfort and sportiness of the vehicle in different modes and there are a lot to choose from.
You can alter the height of the vehicle which is useful in different situations. The instant acceleration is very handy for overtaking or launching the car if you need to; it also gives confidence to the driver.
Behind the steering wheel, you can find paddle shifters that can adjust the regenerative braking of the car but unfortunately, the car won’t stop completely which would be nice as an option.
