Tesla Models have been affordable at times thanks to federal electric vehicle tax credits, but their prices fluctuate.
Tesla vehicle prices have decreased and increased in short periods of time. Some base models have also completely sold out at times, leaving only expensive upper-level trim options. According to Car and Driver, the Fisker Pear EV will start at under $30,000. This will make it more affordable than any Tesla model on the market, including the Tesla Model 3. Federal electric vehicle tax incentives could make Fisker’s new EV even more affordable.
The Tesla Model 3 is more expensive than most of its newer rivals. The electric vehicle space will only get more competitive with time, and models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Volkswagen ID. 4 are gaining steam. Tesla’s prices could hurt the company in the long run as more affordable alternatives become available.

Factor in the large number of unfulfilled orders, and you get the perfect conditions for another automaker to swoop in and steal the top position from Tesla.
Fisker could become a much larger player in the electric vehicle space if its Fisker Pear EV were to become popular. If it delivers sufficient range, it could eventually become more popular than the Tesla Model 3.
